Au revoir et à très bientôt (en gaëlique)
Au petit matin de ce 4ème jour dans le Donegal, le souffle de l’Atlantique avait encore forci passant à 33 nœuds établis avec des rafales à près de 50 nœuds. Plus de quoi mettre une pagaie dans le vent. Ce fut l’occasion pour toute l’équipe de se livrer à un temps d’échanges très instructif entre le centre de formation de Gartan (Coachs et stagiaires), Steven Millar, très impliqué dans le développement des sports de nature en Europe et les représentants du CREPS. La description de la formation « Outdoor Activity Instructor » mise en œuvre en Irlande fut particulièrement intéressante avec notamment ce souci d’offrir une formation en adéquation avec le marché mais permettant surtout d’accéder à un emploi plus pérenne dans le secteur de l’Outdoor. Jérémy Metzger de Raskas kayak ainsi que Vincent Achard de Camino kayak ont également pu présenter leur métier de guide de kayak de mer en France ainsi que les perspectives de développement de leurs entreprises respectives. Le CREPS Rhône-Alpes remercie vivement le centre de Gartan, son directeur Marty, ses formateurs John et ses collègues, toutes les équipes techniques et de cuisine ainsi que les stagiaires pour leur accueil formidable, leur disponibilité et leur souhaitait sincère et particulièrement motivé d’échanger et de partager pour progresser ensemble en Europe dans la perspective d’un développement harmonieux et durable de l’emploi dans l’encadrement des sports de nature. Sans oublier bien sûr Steven Millar dont l’expertise en matière de sports de nature en Europe est immense et précieuse et permet de disposer d’une vision claire des enjeux. A l’issue de ce partage, quelques modestes produits locaux d’Ardèche ont été remis à nos amis irlandais avant une petite escapade dans le Parc National de Glenveagh sensible aux pratiques de sports de nature. Rendez vous est maintenant donné en France à nos amis irlandais pour la seconde étape de cet échange.

In the early hours of this 4th day in Donegal, the Atlantic wind had picked up to 33 knots, gusting to nearly 50 knots. More than enough to get a paddle into the wind. It was an opportunity for the whole team to take part in a highly instructive discussion between the Gartan training centre (coaches and trainees), Steven Millar, who is very involved in the development of outdoor sports in Europe, and the CREPS representatives. The description of the "Outdoor Activity Instructor" training programme implemented in Ireland was particularly interesting, with a particular focus on offering training that is in line with the market, but above all provides access to more permanent employment in the outdoor sector. Jérémy Metzger from Raskas kayak and Vincent Achard from Camino kayak also presented their work as sea kayak guides in France and the development prospects of their respective companies. The CREPS Rhône-Alpes warmly thanks the Gartan centre, its director Marty, his trainers John and his colleagues, all the technical and kitchen teams and the trainees for their wonderful welcome, their availability and their sincere and particularly motivated wish to exchange and share in order to progress together in Europe with a view to the harmonious and sustainable development of employment in the supervision of nature sports. Not forgetting, of course, Steven Millar, whose expertise in nature sports in Europe is immense and invaluable, providing a clear vision of the issues at stake. At the end of the meeting, our Irish friends were presented with a few modest local products from the Ardèche before a short trip to the Glenveagh National Park, which is very receptive to nature sports. We now look forward to seeing our Irish friends in France for the second stage of this exchange.
