Voyage depuis l'Ardèche
vers l'Irlande - 2nde partie - Arrivée en ferry à Dublin, voyage
jusqu'au Donegal, kayak sur le lac de Gartan puis balade au phare de
Fanad
Pour apprécier la quintessence d'un voyage au long cours, rien de tel
qu'une itinérance terrestre et maritime, deux jours pleins d'une épopée
propice à la réflexion, le temps d'apprécier les choses et de
s'abandonner à la contemplation des territoires parcourus. Après un
départ du CREPS au cœur de la nuit en minibus, l'équipe prit le cap
plein nord pour rejoindre Cherbourg en slalomant entre plusieurs
cellules convectives. Dés l'aurore, les côtes normandes de la baie de
Seine se profilaient à l'horizon avec un peu d'avance, ce qui permit de
visiter quelques sites emblématiques des plages du débarquement (Omaha
Beach) avant de filer tout au nord du Contentin à Cherbourg pour y
embarquer à bord du ferry WB Yeats. Sous un ciel clair mais aéré par un
petit souffle d'est bien frais, le navire appareillait pile à l'heure
pour s'extraire de la grande rade et filer à travers la Manche vers la
pointe de la Cornouaille avant de virer à la nuit tombante l'archipel
des îles Scilly. 19 heures de traversée attendaient alors nos marins
d'eau douce ardéchois embarqués vers de nouvelles rencontres et
découvertes grâce à cette mobilité Erasmus. |

Journey from
the Ardèche to Ireland - Part 2 - Arrival at Dublinon board the WB Yeats
ferry, then kayaking on Lough Gartan and evening troip to Fanad Island
After an epic two-day journey by road and sea, the team of CREPS APT
trainee instructors and their trainers reached the Gartan outdoor
training centre in Donegal, Ireland, yesterday afternoon. Warmly
welcomed by John, the Ardéchois began an exchange of professional
practices as part of the Erasmus + programme. Staff and trainers from
the Gartan centre travelled to the Ardèche from 19 to 25 April to meet a
number of professional and institutional players in the field of nature
sports, and to take part in a number of activities at different natural
sites. The Gartan centre, which has a capacity similar to that of the
CREPS, was set up over 40 years ago and welcomes a large number of
school groups, as well as training multi-skilled sports instructors in
outdoor activities. Situated on the shores of a natural lake in the
heart of unspoilt countryside between the Atlantic Ocean and granite
hills, the centre is ideally placed to raise awareness of the human and
social values of our outdoor activities. After a presentation of the
centre and its activities, the people of the Ardèche were immediately
invited to explore the lake in a kayak in glorious weather, before
heading off at nightfall to the Fanad lighthouse.
